Resource Spotlight
The Winter 2012 issue of The Positive Side rings in the new year with a little something for everyone: from the profound to the entertaining, from the truly touching to the hilarious.
Chantale Perron, who rocks the cover with her fantastic trademark red locks, shares the story of losing her love and of her determination to fight for the rights of drug users. We talk to ex-sailor Simon Thwaites, who first made headlines when he took the Canadian military to court for discriminating against people with HIV, about the power of his painting. And PHAs chat about the dating game—their disaster dates and magical moments.
With many PHAs now working, we take a look at the pitfalls and payoff of being on the job with HIV. We tell you why it’s key for people with HIV to get enough vitamin D, and we offer practical information on kidney health. The issue ends with the beautiful photography and words of celebrated Vancouver artist Joe Average.
